So, an old friend of mine finally was convinced to get into the Doom engine games, and he prefers Hexen to the rest of them. Hexen.wad free download asked if there were any good mods out there for it, but I dont know of hexen.wad free download single one. Seems to be more devoid of content than Strife. So is there anything notable out there for Hexen yet? Preferably complete non-WIP stuff. Arg, browser crash while writing a reply.
A few older maps from the archive that I downloax. As for gameplay mods, I don't really like 'em, so maybe someone else can recommend some. Also I'm not really up on newer mapsets, unfortunately.

Yeah, Deadlock is for Hexen. Playing it actually led me to finding a ZDoom bug with the way floating objects are handled. Should be fixed in recent devbuilds. Nice find. Maybe I'll give it another try, it's been a while since I played it last. I certainly didn't hate it, it just didn't grab me too much. He should try Serpent:Ressurection as that is one of the best mods that there is for Jexen.wad.

Awesome mapset imo. It is a beautiful mapset too. Caldera is the most complex hexen.waf far. I've got about maps that claim as hexen. Some are stinkers but with gzdoom the game of hexen is so much fun. If using zdoom, this Hexen wad kind of remakes Hero Quest the old board game on it. You could always break out Samsara and play through Hexen as the Marathon security officer or Duke Nukem or something.
